<title><![CDATA[ABRC Presents Research and Outreach Endeavors at AbSciCon 2008]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>ABRC presented its ongoing research and outreach endeavors at the 5th Astrobiology Science Conference on April 14-17, 2008 in Santa Clara, California, U.S.A. &nbsp;Fifteen members of the ABRC research faculty, students, and staff attended.&nbsp; The following six oral presentations and nine poster presentations were presented at six different sessions at the Conference: <br /><br /><strong>7-08-O. <title><![CDATA[ABRC Newsletter -- WINTER 2007]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<strong><img height="200" hspace="10" width="155" align="left" alt="" src="/abrc_newsblog/upload/winter07_cover_t.jpg" />Winter 2007 -- The Astrobiology Biogeocatalysis Research Node of the NASA Astrobiology Institute (NAI) at Montana State University</strong> officially kicked-off on Sept. 14 with a face-to-face meeting of the NAI node P.I.&rsquo;s, postdoctoral associates, and students. This meeting provided the opportunity for the MSU group to interact directly with ABRC colleagues from Stony Brook and Temple Universities and develop a plan to become more fully integrated into the NAI. The Astrobiology Biogeocatalysis Research Node is one of four new NAI nodes to join the NAI this fall as part of the NAI CAN four solicitation <br /><br />Special guests at the meeting included Carl Pilcher, NAI Director, who brought inspirational and welcoming words from NAI central and Professor Lance Seefeldt of Utah State University, an expert in the area of biological nitrogen fixation, who gave an excellent seminar on progress in the field. In addition to the research endeavors of the ABRC, we are excited to advance the outreach efforts of the NAI, which provide an outstanding forum to promote science education and bring the general biology, biochemistry, and chemistry principles to a broad audience. The Astrobiology Biogeocatalysis Research Node provides a new and unique educational experience for undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-doctoral scholars providing a breadth of experience in abiotic and biotic metal cluster chemistry and biochemistry and shaping the next generation of researchers probing life&rsquo;s origins <br /><br /><a href="http://www.abrc.montana.edu/newsletter/ABRCNewsletterWinter2007_Screen.pdf">PDF - 72 dpi</a> | <a href="http://www.abrc.montana.edu/newsletter/ABRCNewsletterWinter2007.pdf">PDF - 300 dpi</a>]]></description>
